Horse Photo Competition 2 2014 : Entry Number 71

what a striking and strong black-and-white conversion ... strong shadows and bold whites. i find the tension created by the top of the withers of the horse in the foreground and the stone/block on the hill a little distracting. i think cloning this one block out so that there is more 'breathing room' around the horse's withers would 'relax' the image somewhat in that area. otherwise, this is a striking image. nicely done. ~ illona

Congrats to all the other winners! It is a great pleasure to be recognised amongst so many other incredible images. My name is Aaron Andujar. I am a New Yorker currently living and working in Hong Hong. I am a financial services professional and travel photography enthusiast. This image was taken with a Nikon D600 and a 24mm Nikkor f/2.8 AF-D lens and initially converted to b/w in Silver Efex Pro for a silver gelatin print from Ilford. I later adjusted for screen viewing. This photograph was made at Corfe Castle in England. Thank you for the feedback. I have been putting a lot if focus on my post processing recently, and I couldn't agree more with you about removing that rock.
