Food Photo Competition 2013 No 4 : Entry Number 104

I have been lost in this photo for ages, one can look on and on, attention jumping from one eye to another. It is a well spotted shot with the darker calamar creating the balance.

My name is Nimrod Genisher. I am a professional photographer based in Israel. Photography plays an inseparable part of my life, of which food photography holds my greatest passion. There is this something with the textures, the colors and the scents of food that draws me into this occupation over and over again. I took this image while photographing for a special article about the "Dallal", a traditional auction held in the early morning, at the Fisherman's Market of the Kishon Port, in Haifa, Israel. I joined a dear friend of mine - who is also a wonderful talented chef - for a glimpse at this hidden gem. I love how this spontaneous heap of Octopuses and Squids, ended up delightfully lying next to each other in a graphic and artistic way.
