  • This is beautiful with such an artistic angle on this theme. The colours are striking and complementary, the composition refreshing and so original, and that foot not quite touching the ground is mesmerising. Fantastic work and winner by a length !

  • Looks like mother roe deer taking her fawn on a visit to the town. What a lovely rare scene and so well captured, they have an air of curiosity and seem so casual though i suspect that is not the case. Great shot and so sweet though somewhat worrying for them…

  • Here is a novel street view with a lovely bokeh. The very sharp spider’s web puts nature into the foreground of this beautifully soft toned and living street scene. Most original, well done.

  • Thank you for the Mark of Excellence! My name is Erwin Fischer and I'm a Germany based photographer. The image has been taken in Regensburg, a lovely city in Bavaria/ Germany. Due to the composition i named it "Spider Man". It has been taken with a Leica M240 and a 50mm F2 Summicron lens. For post processing I increased the color saturation. Thanks to the judges for the nomination! Best regards Erwin Fischer

  • The beautiful monochrome and pan make this wandering couple so real and together in this almost 3D street scene. They seem happy indeed, and in step. The hand in the center draws the eye in and suddenly we are there. This photo is so alive and real and perfectly suited to this theme. Well done (once again) for this shot, but the obvious talent you have shown here suggests you might conjure up something else.

  • This is such a nice scene, beautifully framed in lovely green. We can only wonder what this man’s emotions are but the picture certainly asks that question. It is a lovely provoking image, nice work.

  • My name is Peter and I live in Vancouver, Canada. I shoot with a variety of cameras including my trusty old Nikon F3 for black and white photos. This one was taken with a Nikon D7000. The photo was taken in a "permit free area" meaning that people can do anything such as sell street food, teeshirts and artwork, play music, demonstrate for or against their favourite causes, etc. without needing a permit from the city. The young women are dancers practicing a choreographed routine to dance music from a portable stereo and are being filmed by their dance teacher. I waited about twenty minutes for this opportunity.

  • Well the difference between the pictured smiling women and your subject’s expression can only underline those differences; harsh reality and fantasy. You have caught the message perfectly with this strong composition.

  • This is one of those pictures which have a déjà-vu effect, it all seems so familiar, but it also conveys so much fun. Nice real shot, well done.

  • This is a fun look at a group of sightseers with an interesting retro feel and a welcome summer warmth and friendly light heartedness.

  • Thank you for the mark of excellence. This photo was shot this summer in Biarritz (France) with a canon 5d4 and a 24 mm lens. I have used Capture One to develop the photo and Silver Efex Pro to convert the picture in black and white.
