- This is such a fabulously captured image of this young foal. The bellies of the mares flanking him, along with the other foals in the distance, beautifully frame this foal as it stares directly at the camera. Wonderful capture. Nicely done! ~ illona

- Thank you soo much for chosing my photo as the winning one :) I feel very honored by this award. I am Coralie Duda from Glauburg near Frankfurt/ Germany. I took this photo when I was in Island this summer. I loved to observe the herd with many foals. The photo was taken with the Canon EOS 5D Mark iii with the Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS ii.

- This amazing capture is made even more dynamic by the second horse coming into the frame, suggesting a fuller herd of horses galloping through the water. Wonderful focus and white balance. Nicely done. ~ illona

- Thank you for this Mark of Excellence, Ilona! The photo has been an experiment for me, because I used the Sigma 35mm f1.8 on my Canon EOS 5D Mark iii, which I usually don't use for horse photos. So in the context of the stones of Burg Rodenstein in the Odenwald, it also fits with this lens. I am Coralie Duda from Glauburg near Frankfurt/ Germany.
