  • Wow, I'm a bit speechless and very very happy. My name is Torsten Krebs and I'm a car photographer from Germany. It was a photo magazine article about Tim himself which inspired me to combine my two passions - cars and photography. So I started my photo label P-Arts.eu in 2014. The picture was taken in a normal garage and the lighting effect was purely made by camera settings and lighting. The Equipment I used was a Nikon D610 with the Nikkor 24-70mm. Flash was one very simple Helios 300W studio flash with a 120 cm striplight. Post processing at that point of time was done purley in lightroom and mainly included removing dust and scratches and optimizing clarity and contrast. You could find me in the web here: Website: www.p-arts.eu Facebook: www.facebook.com/p-arts.eu Shop: p-arts.fotograf.de/jobs So, Tim thank you very very much for honoring my work!

  • Classic cars presents us with shapes and lines that makes it easy to create awesome photographs. I shot this Cadillac for a collector's portfolio using a light wand I developed to do light painting on cars. I took about 10 shots which I layered in Photoshop. Nikon D750, 50mm lens. 100ISO, f16, 4 seconds

  • I really like this shot, well lit and well thought out. I think i would like to see it more over to the right with black space to the left and perhaps not so centred but thats personal choice. Well executed and well put together in final edit.

  • Thank you Tim. I'm a known to be passionate automotive photographer and the nice guys from BMW M division Zambezi invited me to photograph this M4 GTS in their showroom while they had it on display for only two days. Working on a busy showroom floor, created its own challenges, but using the Ellinchrom Quatra to light this beauty, I was able to overpower the ambient light to bring out only the detail I wanted. Nikon D750, 50mm 50 ISO, f22, 1/125 I added a circular polariser to ensure underexposure of the ambient light.

  • Thank you so much Tim. This photo was requested by a client and I had to do this with the plane in the hangar during daytime. I under exposed ambient light with 4 stops and used the Ellinchrom Quatra with a 60 X 60 soft box to expose small areas of the plane. These shots were layered in Photoshop to produce the end result. Nikon D3, 60mm macro lens. ISO 100, f22, 1/125.

  • Great piece of work and the additional lights of the car to the rear add to the overall feel of the image with that light being reflected into the ground below. The lighting is very well done and cars are never easy but this is very good and well worth a place here with the winners

  • Very interesting shot and I love the overall feel. The lighting of the tree and attention to detail are great and you should take full credit for those. A very different sort of image with plenty of space that is to be proud of.

  • Thank you for the honours Tim. We were busy with a commercial shoot for a client (The AniGang Project) on a game farm in South Africa when, to our delight, a typical African thunderstorm approached. We quickly moved the car closer to the tree to create a balance between the car, the tree and the storm. The foreground and tree were painted with a DIY light-wand, which enables me to paint with very soft even light and virtually no hot spots on the car. The slow shutterspeed ensured that the lightening was also captured. NIKON D700, 20mm lens, f8 200ISO at 30s.
