Congratulations on this beautiful picture of this ant. It's very hard work to photograph ants, they do not stop moving. The composition is really good, the position of the ant brings a lot to the composition. The colors are very beautiful, to put the point is perfect. Very good job.

My name is Frantisek Dulik and i am from East Slovakia (Spisska Nova Ves). I am amateur macro and close-up photographer. Picture was taken with canon EOS 70D with reverse old minolta 50/1.7 lens. For more magnification i added set of kenko extension tube. As a background i used yellow maple leaf. Thank you very much for the first place. :-)

"Common Blue Damselfly 'Peek a Boo'" was taken in my garden. It was a chilly summer’s morning when I found the damselfly. As I approached, it attempted to hide behind a blade of grass. This is how I got the image you see. I used a Canon 5D MKii with an MP-E65mm 1-5 x Macro lens, Macro Twin Lite MT-24ex and a slave 580EX Flash to light up the background grass. F/16, ISO 100, 125th sec.

"German Wasp and Mites" was taken in my garden. I had placed some spots of honey on flowers around the garden. One of the flowers was a white Clematis. The honey attracted the wasp to land and drink. As the wasp was drinking, it was also joined by very small mites. I used a Canon 5D MKii with an MP-E65mm 1-5 x Macro lens and Macro Twin Lite MT-24ex. F/16, ISO 100, 125th sec.
