  • what a fabulous image. strong framing, capable white balance, perfect exposure ... all work to present the viewer with a strong, professional image. the starkness of the landscape and the tones allows this sweet subject to stand out, and the textures of the windblown forelock , the dirty coat and tail, the melted snow around the pony's hooves, all lead the viewer's eye throughout the frame, inviting them to come back again and again to see more details. very nicely done. a truly beautiful image. congrats! ~ illona

  • Thank you so much for selecting my image! This was taken in May 2015 in Iceland. There was a large group of very friendly horses of every color that came right up to the fence to greet us, but this white horse stayed further back in the field in the lingering snow against the gray evening sky. Shot with a Canon EOS 5D Mark III and a 24-105 mm lens. Chellie Hyre, Virginia, USA.

  • this is an absolutely fabulous image ... the deep, pre-dawn or sunset shadows, the warm tones, the chill in the air seen in the horse's breath, and the brooding sky ... all work together to make an instantly captivating and intimate image. nicely done! ~ illona

  • what a stunning image and beautiful light. the low sun catching in the horse's tail and whiskers, the easy movement captured in this image, the swing of the head, the swish of the tail and the suggested stride in the forward shoulder draw us into this image. absolutely stunning subject and light. beautifully captured and managed in post. an instant fave. ~ illona

  • Thank you! I shot this picture in Brañosera, a little village of Palencia (Spain) with my 5D Mark II and a 28-135 lens. The horse was very human... he had a lonely face... like waiting for something bad to happen. I developed the pic using Lightroom trying to achieve a low-key ambience trying to look like it was shot on a studio.
