  • Interesting perspective, it makes you stop and think and you have to figure out what it is that you are looking at. The red car is also so vibrant and adds a great splash of character to the image, so the judges chose this as the best image.

  • My name is Roman Tripler from Hennef, Germany. I've never really shot a panorama. On one day I watched, what is typical for panoramas and wanted to create something new. This perspective I have never seen before - so I Shot It ;) I am happy, thank you!

  • Lovely symmetrical composition and use of colour to really capture a strong atmosphere of a crisp clear (and cold!) day. Very good image.

  • This is a photo of the courthouse in Prescott, Arizona. My girlfriend had never seen snow so we decided to take a day trip up north to grab lunch. Needless to say, we had a blast. Photo was taken with an iPhone 5S and edited with a combo of the iPhone photo editor and the Photoshop Express app.

  • Very good use of the compositional elements of a panorama to create something interesting, engaging and different. In particular, aside from the obvious curves of the path, the smooth texture of the plaza on the right is a nice feature.

  • I do most of my shooting with a DSLR, but took advantage of a quiet, cold night near City Hall in London to capture this image with my iPhone 6, using Occipital's 360° Panorama app. It took a couple of attempts to get the city, the river and Tower Bridge framed within the elliptical shape on the left of the frame, but was quite happy with this one. I exported the "flat" image to the phone's camera roll, cropped off the bottom of the frame where the perspective had been warped a little, and then made a couple of minor adjustments to the highlights and shadows to bring out the light reflecting on the tiled walkway in the foreground. http://alexlyons.photography

  • Very strong use of curves in the architecture of the bridge, and the position of the camera really brings out a wonderful perspective. The water on the left with its reflections of the city in the distance further adds some lovely context to the image.

  • This was taken with an iPhone 5 during a morning run around Calgary. I was on a business trip but was told that this bridge was very expensive to build and was a point of contention among the locals. I thought it was a beautifully done pedestrian-friendly addition and made for a great photo op!

  • Quite unique and great use of a vertical orientation. Its almost Escher! with the stairs above falling off and giving an impression of an unnatural slant.

  • This photo was made at the same day as the winning photo. I searched for interesting distances around me and found this at my work. Indeed Escher was one of my first thoughts when I shot it. My Name is Roman Tripler and I come from Hennef, Germany and I'm glad. Thank you!

  • Interesting subject, with the mess of graffiti, the door in the middle and stairs on the left.. Almost some kind of Dantesque vision of the underworld, and we have a scooter or two to make our getaway.

  • Thank you! This was in a underpass in the my home city Adelaide South Australia. It is a lot of fun looking at things in a new way with iPhone panorama, had never done this before. Photography is my well loved hobby. I love black and white and street photography in particular.

  • Fascinating geography of the landscape, the rich colours of the sky and the over-arching clouds following your eye through the curve of the panorama, with a symmetric mirror effect between the sky and the shadows on the ground.

  • Unusual subject for a panorama, and very engaging with the books, the old architecture of the library, the sense of peace and quiet with the lighting. You have a lovely sense of affection for places like this coming from the photograph.

  • Hi and thank you! This scene is in our old city library , the Mortlock library in Adelaide South Australia. It was taken with an iPhone 5 and processed on phone with snap seed. My eyes have been opened now to different possibilities with the iPhone panorama and I am still having fun taking shots in this way. I am a hobby photographer, love street photography and black and white

  • Also a nice landscape and a well composed image with the sea on the left and the land on the right. While this would often be a harsh delineation between these two areas, with the sky and clouds bridging between them, they seem to form a sense of harmony that is quite comforting for the eye.
