- I am very excited and honored to have received this award! We visited Convict Lake in the Eastern Sierra on my birthday in the fall of 2011, which actually was a second choice! Although I’ve visited many times, this was my first fall visit and I was really wowed by the autumn color and lake reflections. I used a Nikon D80, 18-50 mm lens @ 18 mm, 1/200, F 11, ISO 125, with processing in Adobe Photoshop . Thank you all who voted for my photograph! ~ Kimberly Kolafa

- I am especially honored and excited to receive this award. Instead of hiking the trail along the north shore of Convict Lake, my husband and I kayaked along the shoreline, where you get a different perspective than when on land. I was able to get this shot because I was on the water! I used a Nikon D80, 18-200mm Nikkor lens @ 52 mm, 1/200, F10, ISO 125 with minimal post-processing in Adobe Photoshop.
