An unusual moment captured at eye level as this blackbird mobs - or apparently rides on - this heron's back.

Thank you so much for the Mark of Excellence! The photo was taken at Lake Hodges in San Diego, California with Canon 70D and Canon 100-400 lens. It was fascinating to watch the Red-winged black bird chase this Great Blue Heron away from a possible nest.
